Domande frequenti

Is the Coinbase API free to use?

Yes. Creating API keys and calling market-data endpoints costs nothing — you only pay Coinbase's normal trading fees on orders the API places, around 0.4-0.6% spot taker (lower at higher volume tiers) and roughly 0.25-0.4% maker.

How do I get Coinbase API keys?

Sign up and complete identity verification at coinbase.com, open Settings → API (Advanced Trade), click New API Key, pick the portfolio, set permissions (View / Trade) and an IP allow-list, then save the API key and secret — the secret is shown only once.

What are Coinbase's API rate limits?

Advanced Trade's private (authenticated) endpoints are throttled per user at 30 requests per second, while public market-data endpoints are throttled per IP address at 10 requests per second. Exceeding either limit returns HTTP 429.

How do I keep Coinbase API keys secure?

Never share your secret — regenerate it if leaked. Enable read-only permissions for data-only bots, restrict trade keys to your server's IP address, and disable withdrawals on API keys unless you truly need them, since a leaked withdraw-enabled key can drain your account.
