Domande frequenti

Is the Gate API free to use?

Yes. Creating API keys and calling market-data endpoints costs nothing — you only pay Gate's normal trading fees on orders the API places, around 0.2% spot taker (less if you hold GT) and roughly 0.05% perpetual futures taker.

How do I get Gate API keys?

Sign up and verify your identity at gate.io, open API Keys (APIv4) from the account menu and click Create API Key. Choose permissions (Spot / Futures — read or read+write) and optionally bind an IP, then save the Key and Secret — the secret is shown only once.

What are Gate's API rate limits?

Gate's APIv4 limits public endpoints like orderbook, candlesticks and tickers to around 200 requests per 10 seconds per endpoint, based on IP. Authenticated order placement and cancellation allow up to 200 requests per second, and each connected WebSocket channel is capped at roughly 50 requests per second. Exceeding a limit triggers temporary throttling.

How do I keep Gate API keys secure?

Never share your secret — regenerate it if leaked. Use read-only permissions for data bots, whitelist your server's IP address, and leave withdraw permission disabled on trading keys unless you truly need it, since a leaked withdraw-enabled key can drain your account.
