Neon plans: Free, Launch ($0.106/CU-h), Scale ($0.222/CU-h)
Neon has no fixed monthly minimum on paid plans (dropped December 2025) — you pay only for compute-hours, storage GB-months and extra branches you actually use. Compute auto-suspends after 5 minutes idle (scale-to-zero), so the "active hours" figure is the time your database is genuinely serving queries, not wall-clock hours. Storage is a flat $0.35/GB-month on both paid plans. Free gives every project 0.5GB storage, 100 CU-hours and 10 branches at no cost — Launch and Scale remove the storage/compute cap but still include 10 and 25 branches respectively before the $1.50/branch-month overage kicks in. Teams branching per pull request for preview databases should compare this against a fixed-size managed instance on the managed database cost calculator.
